Show was good, venue is new
Son Rompe Pera delivered their usual impressive performance. Ellis Hall, the surprise guest, added a special touch to the show. The guys, although great, were missing Rocco, who is currently taking a break for his health.
The sound on the right side of the stage in my area was too heavy on the bass, overshadowing the rest of the instruments. David's bass drum, while loved, dominated the mix when too loud, drowning out the bass work. Vocals seemed a bit low, although Ellis' voice cut through better. The balance of the horns was satisfactory.
The venue is experiencing some growing pains. The service was average, nothing exceptional. The food was decent but could have been served hotter, and the service should have been better considering the automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill. Multiple requests were made for drinks.
